SHAUN LANDRY

CEO/CHAIRMAN

Since 1984 Ms. Landry has been performing, directing, teaching, and creating theater with a main thrust in African American based spaces and performances for people of color. She has been recognized in the improvisational theater community for her tireless work. Originally from Chicago at a very young age she was accepted at The Goodman School of Theatre and studied with Rondi Reed and Steve Scott. She fell in love with not only improvisational theater but the social political aspects of the art form and started working with Geese Theater Company that does drama therapy in prisons and penitentiaries across the county and internationally.

Everywhere Ms. Landry has resided has brought innovative theater with her. In Chicago she was part of the Second City Theater in its touring company. In Seattle she created The Underground Theater Conspiracy and performed with the LGBTQ Community. In San Francisco she co-founded The San Francisco Improv Festival and was a voice for diversity throughout the Bay Area improvisational community. Her theater career has taken her all over the world performing, directing, teaching and
producing. From London England to Seoul Korea to Scott City Kansas, Shaun has taught at festivals as well as universities like Northwestern, Oberlin, and Stanford.

She has created curriculums and produced events for theaters around the country. In addition to awards in her field, Landry has been honored with having a theater in her name in Manilla, Philippines. During the
pandemic Ms. Landry was a leader of online theater classes and performances creating The Seniors
Improv Comedy with Landry & Summers (where weekly performances revenue went directly to The
NAACP Legal Defense Fund)

She has created curriculums and produced events for theaters around the country. In addition to awards in her field, Landry has been honored with having a theater in her name in Manilla, Philippines. Ms. Landry is currently a core teacher at The Pack Theater, teaching Level Three Improvisation with a focus in classic theater technique.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

STEPHEN C. JAMES

EDUCATIONAL DIRECTOR BOARD MEMBER

Since 2003 Stephen C. James has run the drama program at a California middle school, directing, establishing a  state-of-the-art technical theater curriculum, and teaching acting.
He’s also a podcaster (In Theaters Never) and a performer of improvisational theatre with the African American ensemble the TuskegeeXperiment at The Second City Los Angeles.

MARSHALL GIVENS

MARKETING/BOARD MEMBER

Marshall Givens is a professional actor, writer, producer and teacher.
His experience with spontaneous theater has been seen as the founder of The TuskegeeXperiment and performer/teacher at numerous theater’s including The Second City, iO Chicago and UCB. He has done marketing and media for theatres in Chicago and Los Angeles.
He can be seen performing comedy with College Humor Originals, Adam Ruins Everything and Comedy Bang Bang.

ROYCE SHOCKLEY

OPERATIONAL MANAGER BOARD MEMBER

Royce is a prolific artist and educator who works with many organizations geared to Underrepresented voices in The Arts, Music and organizations.
He is a Teacher at Parker Anderson, Executive Producer of The Color Collective, Chairman of The Inclusivity Board of The Pack Theater, Board Member, ACCESS Committee of The Hollywood Fringe  Festival and The Founder of Blacktoberfest geared to showcasing Brewers of color.
Royce’s vast experience with the operations of theatre management and technical supervision in arenas large and small is over ten plus years of expertise. His communication skills leading staff to its best potential has been recognized throughout Los Angeles.

JEFFREY THOMPSON

FINANCIALS/ACCOUNTING

Jeffrey Thompson is the lead Financial Administrator and is a vital part of The Ledge with not only his extensive experience as an actor, writer and comedian, but has brought much needed services to artists, producers and theatres in Los Angeles as a certified tax accountant.
Experienced in Entertainment and Theatre
Accounting along with nonprofit 1023 and
fundraising accounting Mr. Thompson has
also studied Psychology at Pepperdine
University

HANS SUMMERS

FINANCIALS/ACCOUNTING

Hans Summers is also and experienced actor and producer who is the partner of Shaun Landry since 1986. He has financed numerous theatrical productions and theatres with high success rates and has created and run a Chapter S Corporation in Chicago that received Dunn and Bradstreet’s highest ratings.
Currently he oversees financials at Kaiser Permanente of Northern/Southern CA for the last twenty years.

Leon Acord

LGBTQI+ Liaison/Board

Leon Acord is an award-winning actor who has appeared in over 35 films you’ve never seen and 30 plays you’ve never heard of. Possible exceptions include the digital TV series Old Dogs & New Tricks (2011-2016) on Amazon Prime Video (which he created, wrote & co-produced), and the stage hit Carved in Stone (in which he played Quentin Crisp in both SF and LA productions). His 2020 memoir, SUB-LEBRITY: The Queer Life of a Show-Biz Footnote, is now available in paperback & e-book on Amazon. He wrote his one-man show Last Sunday in June (1996) and co-authored the 2014 play Setting the Record Gay. He was a “Take Five” columnist for Back Stage West throughout 2009 and a former contributor to Huffington Post. He has also written for San Francisco Examiner and the journal Human Prospect. He currently lives in West LA with husband Laurence Whiting & their cat Toby.
